Formed in 2001 the Ensemble came together through a love of performance and a desire to explore new ways of communicating with their audience. To this end the members have undertaken theatrical training, staged and choreographed music and the spoken word, and commissioned new music. All are highly established professional musicians and have worked with many international ensembles and orchestras. Since 2001 the Ensemble has been Quintet in Residence to the National Youth Chamber Orchestra of Great Britain. Work there involves coaching orchestral and chamber music repertoire in preparation for bi-annual concerts.
